The Kilburn White Horse Sutton Bank, Thirsk North York Moors LAST ONE
The Kilburn White Horse Sutton Bank, Thirsk North York Moors LAST ONE
The White Horse was another landmark in the landscape I used to look for as a child and in high school I would go gliding once a year off the top of Sutton Bank, flying over the horse was always one of my favourite parts.
Situated on a hillside in the North York Moors National Park in North Yorkshire it can been seen for miles around, as far as North Leeds and across the Vale of York. It’s said the origins of horse is that is was made by a schoolmaster and his pupils in 1857.
This view is from near Kilburn and one where you are able to view the horses shape straight on across the green and yellow fields.
