Castle Hill Huddersfield, Kirklees West Yorkshire
Castle Hill Huddersfield, Kirklees West Yorkshire
I’ve always been fascinated with follies and this little tower in Almondbury looks over the town of Huddersfield in Kirklees. There’s lots of history to this hilltop landmark going back to the Bronze Age but this grade II listed building also known as Victoria Tower or Jubilee Tower as it was built to celebrate the monarch.
From the top of the tower there are wonderful views across the landscape of West Yorkshire and across to Emley Moor Mast, but on this screen print I wanted to focus more on the folly and the land that surrounds it.
