Robin Hood's Bay Card North York Moors
Robin Hood's Bay Card North York Moors
This beautiful North Yorkshire coastal village is a firm favourite of the Yorkshire coast. Sandwiched between Whitby and Scarborough, I often think it’s Robin Hood’s Bay or Staithes that are peoples favourite spot, for very similar reasons, as they’r both similar in the fact they’re picturesque old fishing villages on the Heritage Coast and of the North Yorkshire Moors Dinosaur Coastline, as you can regular find fossils, but the vast beach here is the difference.
This screen print was inspired by the cliff walk along the Clevland Way coastal path, walking parallel to the sea and shows the mudstone that appears on the beach at the low tide. This was probably the most challenging part of the drawing to represent these dark rocks in print but hopefully captures these dark grey marine shales.
