Up to Almscliffe Crag Leeds, North Yorkshire
It’s been a few years since my last screen print featuring this distinctive millstone grit outcrop, Almscliffe Crag is a major landmark of the lower Wharfedale valley, it can been seen clearly all around Otley Chevin and out towards Harrogate. It’s also a favourite location for climbing and bouldering, but also such a good example of a tor and it’s a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The inspiration behind this drawing, from near North Rigton, depicts the lush green landscape and trees that surround the grey stone that juts out into the sky from miles around.
