The Cod and Lobster Staithes, Yorkshire Coast
The Cod and Lobster Staithes, Yorkshire Coast
Something a little different to my usual landscapes but I'm a big fan of Staithes and the Cod and Lobster, so I thought this really needed to be a print. Located in the heart of the North York Moors coastline I’m often drawn to Staithes, may be it’s because of family history with the area and participating in the Staithes Festival of Art and Heritage, which is treated like a holiday.
On any visit I always try to pop into the Cod and Lobster, or if the weather is good enough I’ll sit looking out onto the harbour. The pub is actually in it’s forth carnation after previously being washed away three times, the last time was in 1953.
This artwork was originally created for our wedding where our table names were based on our favourite pubs.
