Passing Emley Moor Mast Card Kirklees, West Yorkshire
Passing Emley Moor Mast Card Kirklees, West Yorkshire
One of the most iconic structures of the West Yorkshire landscape and a symbol of being nearly home for so many people. Another subject I love to revisit as there’s just so many views, I can even see it from my Rawdon studio…if I stand on my tip toes!
Emley Moor Mast is located in Kirklees and is the tallest free standing structure in the UK and 20m taller than the shard (that’s got to be one of my favourite facts). This view is from the south of Huddersfield near Skelmanthorpe and Scissett, not far from Denby Dale where my partner’s family is from. I really wanted to bring in those shadows into this print and experiment getting those green tones using some overlapping of the colours.
