Contemporary landscape artist from Shipley in West Yorkshire, creating limited edition, hand printed, silk screen prints from original drawings inspired by her walks. Working from her Leeds studio where Sarah also runs screen printing workshops.

YORKSHIRE LANDSCAPE SCREEN PRINTS

Sarah Harris is a landscape artist and printmaker from Shipley (Bradford), creating limited edition screen prints based on Yorkshire and beyond. Starting with a walk, then creating a pen drawing that will become the basis of the artwork. Each piece is a hand pulled screen print, which are then signed and editioned at her studio in Rawdon, Leeds. Sarah’s work is often inspired by growing up in the area she depicts, living just a short walk from Saltaire and Salts Mill, outings on the Shipley Glen Tramway, hanging out in Ilkley, visits to Haworth or the sight of Emley Moor Mast, as well as visiting family in the North East and popping to the coast. A View to Manningham and Lister Mills - Sarah Harris

£70.00

This print was inspired by the many viewpoints across Bradford, being the highest city in the UK.  These views are often overlooked, however they speak of our city geographically, socially and tell the story of our industrial heritage, which is why I wanted to celebrate them.  Lister Mills in particular is often a dominating presence, it was the largest Mill in the north, its workers also helped establish the Independent Labour Party.  In the centre of the image is Lister Park, which for years was home to the vibrant Bradford Mela, the first Mela to be held in Europe.
