The Course

Taught by Sarah Harris, a landscape screen print artist, at her own print studio on this one day course you will be guided through the process of producing a print from your prepared image, which will form the basis of your own two colour screen print.

You will learn about the process Sarah uses in her own work for the photo emulsion screen print method. These techniques will then be put to use in producing a piece which will form the basis of your own small print edition.

Who is this course suitable for?

This course is for beginners and those who need to refresh their skills.

Attendees should be over eighteen or if younger should be accompanied by an adult.

What will you be doing?

You will learn the basics of creating a water based screen print.

Coat and expose a screen using the photo emulsion method.

You’ll learn about mixing inks and how to print and register layers.

The outcome will be your own two colour print edition on A4.

A look at considerations for your print.

Create layers using your prepared image.

Preparing screens using the coating and exposing process.

Mixing colours for print.

How to prepare screen and print bed.

A demonstration of printing technique.

Print and registration of multiple layers.

Produce a small edition of your final piece.

What’s included?

The price of the course includes inks, paper, tools and equipment.

For the course

Bring print outs of your initial image if you prefer to work that way. You can always forward an image on to be printed before the course, this may not be able to be done on the day.

You are welcome to bring some of your own drawing materials and paper to print on.

Please bring something to take your work home in.

There is a bakery (not always open) and a newsagent not too far away alternatively bring your own pack lunch.

Cancellation Policy

Should you have to cancel -

• If you can give fourteen days notice you can move your booking to an alternative date or get a full refund.

• If you give notice of seven to fourteen days notice of cancellation you will be refunded 50% of the workshop fee.*

• If less than seven days notice is provided no refund will can be given as this is very short notice to fill the place.*

*Please note you can transfer the place to someone else but you need to let me know prior.

In the event the workshop is cancelled, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund of fees.
